Au with grandson Van in 2020, before his first surgery.
Au has reason to be happy. Especially so since he’s also known sadness. You see, his youngest daughter, Chau, was born brain-damaged, never able to live independently outside of her parents’ home.
In 2019 when Chau was 17, she was assaulted and became pregnant. Her son, Van, was born in early 2020, but with a severe cleft lip and cleft palate.
Unable to pay for his grandson’s needed operations, Au was distraught.
His grief turned to joy, however, when Orphan Voice agreed to help. Hear Au’s grateful words after two successful surgeries:
“My heart is filled with emotions. I cannot hold back the tears. I thought to myself – why are these people showing such noble and kind hearts? They love ….”
God’s love has indeed invaded Au’s life! He and his family are now open to hear about Jesus from the pastor of the village church. Praise God!
