Trinh’s father died in a traffic accident when she was only two. Her mother soon remarried. That’s when the real nightmare began. Sexually abused by her stepfather for years, Trinh finally found the words to tell her mother--who refused to believe the awful truth. Trinh was sent to a government orphanage. Left to herself, she fell behind in school. Before long, Trinh started to believe what everyone around her seemed to think: she was stupid and worthless. When the dilapidated orphanage closed, you welcomed her to Promise House Group Home. For the first time, Trinh had a real family.
With patience and love, Trinh began to heal. With her new brothers and sisters, nutritious food, regular tutoring, and persistent encouragement, Trinh found her smile again. And she started to succeed! Today, Trinh is doing well in school and has good friends to grow with. Her journey has taken an astounding turn for the better, thanks in large part to you!
