Cao is Ready to Play

"I'M NOT AFRAID OF THE COLD MONSTER ANY MORE!"

That’s what 10-year-old Cao said as he zipped up his very own coat! When he had come to school that morning, he had no coat or even sweatshirt – only a thin school shirt. It wasn’t enough.

Because of the cold, on most days, Cao stood outside but very near, the Kitchen’s concrete wall. Why? On the other side of that wall was a large, wood-fired, cooking pit that the school cooks used to prepare meals. And those concrete blocks captured heat from within. He loved the warmth of those blocks! It stopped the headaches he got from the cold air.

Because Orphan Voice partners desire to make known Jesus’ name by meeting the needs of “the least of these,” Cao and 1,000 other children received warm coats this winter!

LOOK AT ME NOW!

Wearing her only outfit, Nara walked tentatively forward to join the line. She was quiet but excited. After several minutes, she finally got to the front of the line and there her wait proved to be worth it. She received her new, warm coat! Oh, how good it felt. How it drove off the cold! She couldn’t wait to get home and show her mother!

Nara did not understand that people who are filled with the love of God and who live far away – Orphan Voice partners – bought that coat. She only knows that she’s warm.

SHIVERING NO MORE

Loc came to school each day wearing hand-me-down clothes inherited from his older brother. His parents can’t afford to buy him new clothes. Imagine his joy one winter day to receive his very own, new coat! He came to school shivering; he went home warm!
