Not so long ago, a 9-year-old boy was struggling. He was hungry all the time. He failed at school, unable to advance to even the second grade. He skipped class whenever he could, looking for a place to play computer games or just escape his classmates’ ridicule. His mother abandoned the family. His father was a day laborer, often without work, but never at home. Grand-parents took his older brother to live with them, but this one…this one was too much trouble. His dad finally brought him to Promise House and left. He cried tears of abandonment and rejection.
Last month, he celebrated his 10th birthday among new “brothers and sisters.” He is gaining weight and experiencing new success at school. Thank you for helping us to usher in a new season in his life!
