You Provide Hope!

     When Tien’s family first arrived at Hope Therapy Center last year, his grandmother voiced an all too familiar question: “I don’t know if there is any hope for my grandson. Can he get better?” Her question echoed the deep pain of a family who had already spent years searching for answers, yet saw little progress in Tien’s development.

     Tien is a 9-year-old boy with autism and sensory sensitivities. From a young age, he exhibited signs that left his family worried.

     By the time he was 2, he wasn’t speaking, made little eye contact and had difficulty with basic skills like eating or brushing his teeth. His family took him to hospitals and private centers, but despite their efforts, the financial burden became overwhelming. At age 6, they were forced to stop seeking treatment. Still, the hope of seeing Tien improve never left their hearts.

     It wasn’t until a doctor recommended Hope Therapy Center that the family’s situation began to change. His grandparents were skeptical, frustrated at past attempts to help Tien that had proven ineffective. When he first began attending therapy sessions, Tien was very withdrawn -- he rejected toys, struggled with even the simplest self-care tasks, and showed extreme signs of frustration. His future seemed uncertain.
 
    But, thanks to you and your abounding support, things began to look up! The loving therapists you provide offered him personal and intentional care. They encouraged him to focus on simple life skills, to overcome his sensory challenges, and guided his family with even more strategies to promote independence. 

     Slowly but surely, Tien began to make progress. He started feeding himself with support, cleaning up after meals, and even responding to basic instructions. His family, especially his grandmother, began to see signs of improvement. She told us, “I see Tien is getting better.”Tien's transformation wouldn’t have been possible without your generosity.
