You bring his dreams to life!

At just 14 years old, Huy has faced more hardships than most kids his same age. Born into a difficult situation, Huy’s parents lived together without getting married. When he was only 6 months old, his mother left the family. Then, tragedy struck just 2 years later, when Huy’s father was brutally killed by thugs, leaving Huy and his brother without parental care.

After their father’s death, their elderly paternal grandparents took on the responsibility of raising them.

But the grandparents’ health and limited resources made it difficult to provide for their needs, and Huy was at risk of dropping out of school. In a desperate attempt to ensure a better future, their grandparents made the difficult decision to send Huy’s older brother, Sang, to Promise House. At the time, Promise House was full, so Huy was placed in a government orphanage. However, that orphanage closed in 2021 due to lack of funding, and Huy faced yet another relocation.

Longing to be reunited with his brother, Huy’s aunt made a heartfelt request to Promise House, and through God’s grace, Huy was able to join Promise House. Reuniting with Sang brought immense joy to Huy’s heart and renewed hope for his future.

Because of the hardship that he had already faced, Huy struggled academically. He particularly found math overwhelming and often felt stressed and helpless. Recognizing his challenges, loving staff and caregivers worked closely with Huy, providing strategies to manage his stress and hiring a private tutor to help him catch up to his peers. Though his grades in math are still a work in progress, his improvement has been remarkable, and he has regained his confidence in learning!

Beyond academics, Huy has found a new passion—music. Once preferring to spend his time playing video games, he now spends his free time practicing guitar, a skill he started learning alongside his brother. His dedication has paid off; his guitar teacher notes that Huy is a remarkably fast learner with great potential.

Huy has dreams now, dreams that he never had before. He shared, "I’m truly grateful to OV for giving me such a wonderful living environment. I really enjoy playing the guitar. In the past, I didn’t have any dreams for my future, but now I do. I dream of becoming a guitar teacher and opening my own music center."

Your support helps children like Huy find hope, rediscover their dreams, and work towards a brighter future. Thank you for being part of their journey!
