Dai with a Victory House mentor you provided!
Dai, a third-year student at Danang University of Economics, was at an impasse. His family was struggling with heavy debt, his house was in poor condition, and the cost of living was only getting higher and higher.
A decade previously, his father had suffered a stroke, leaving him paralyzed and unable to work. Since then, the family's survival had depended on his elderly mother's job of collecting bits of garbage for resale -- and it wasn't enough. Despite this, Dai had studied hard all throughout high school and earned himself admission to a good university. In order to help with the expenses, Dai now attended classes and studied during the day, and worked a job in food delivery at night.
His job brought some dangerous challenges. With lots of late-night orders, he risked falling into the traps of human traffickers. More than once he was offered a high-paying job or promised a large sum of cash in exchange for staying the night when he brought the delivery. Dai didn't know what to do. He knew he couldn't accept these offers, but was still struggling to make ends meet. He considered dropping out of school to try to make even more money.
But God sent you right on time. Your compassionate support opened a door at Victory House, established for impoverished young people at risk for trafficking. Help with tuition, books, and food meant that he could focus on his studies, without crushing financial pressures. Expenses were still tight, but manageable. You gave Dai the opportunity to pursue a better future!
Dai completed the Victory House program earlier this year with a smile on his face and hope in his heart. He has graduated college and secured a stable job at a bank! You gave him the tools to succeed. Dai thanks you for transforming his life:
"When I found out that Orphan Voice could help, I was overjoyed because my circumstances at that time were really tough. In the Victory House program, I felt so happy and blessed. My family’s burden was heavy, and my part-time job was barely enough to cover my meals. But thanks to your support, I had tuition help and even language training. Now, I have a great job which has given me a strong start in a career that I love and allows me to support my family financially. Today, my life is so much better--all thanks to the generosity of sponsors during the hardest time of my life."
Dai today, leaving the family home for work.
