The Screaming Boy
Phu’s diagnosis: “cerebral palsy with low cognitive ability.” Because his uncle poked Phu’s private parts when he was young, Phu thought it normal to poke the private parts of other boys and girls. Unable to communicate with others using words, he shouted. Neighbors called him “the screaming boy.”
The Talking Boy
Because of you, Phu is no longer “the screaming boy.” Today, he uses sign language to tell caregivers when he needs help. He initiates conversations with his mom, talking to her about colors and animals. Phu now plays well with other children - no more touching.
